• Presentation of iMeatSense project at the Agricultural University of Athens

    Prof. Nychas presented the iMeatSense project and various research results during a conference for ARISTEIA I & II at the Agricultural University of Athens. The conference took place at the Administration building of the Agriculrural University of Athens on Friday, October 30th, 2015.

  • Oral Presntation in the 9th International Conference on Predictive Modelling in Food

    The work entitled "On the assessment of meat products quality/contamination via non-invasive techniques: Estimation of 3-D multi-spectra spatiotemporal fingerprints" by Tsakanikas P., Panagou E. Z. and Nychas G.-J.E.  was successfully precented in the 9th International Conference on Predictive Modelling in Food (ICPMF9) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on September, 9th, 2015.

  • New Article in Food Research International

    The final version of the accepted article entitled “Multispectral Image Analysis approach to detect adulteration of beef and pork in raw meats” is now available on-line by the Food Research International Journal. (DOI information: 10.1016/j.foodres.2014.10.032).

  • Oral presentation given by Dr.Loukas in Volos

    On Friday, June 27th, Dr. D.Loukas will present the work of Loukas, D., Ropodi, A., & Nychas, G-J. entitled "Regression Model Selection for spectral data sets: A multi-objective genetic approach" on the 3rd International Symposium and 25th National Conference on Operational Research in Volos.

  • Seminar on Signal/Image Analysis

    In the context of the Department's graduate program "Food Science & Technology & Hyman Nutrition" a seminar entitled "Signal/Image Analysis: Applications in Food Science and Industry" will be presented by Dr. P. Tsakanikas. The seminar will take place on Friday, May 9th, 2014 at the Agricultural University of Athens (Library's Conference Room) at 13.00.

  • Oral Presentation at IAFP's European Symposium on Food Safety

    On Friday May 9th, at 8.30a.m., PhD candidate D. Pavlidis will present the work of D. Pavlidis, A. Ropodi, D. Loukas, E. Panagou and G.-J. Nychas entitled "Multispectral Imaging vs. Fourier Transform InfraRed (FTIR) Spectroscopy for Monitoring Meat Spoilage" at IAFP's 2014 European Symposium on Food Safety in Budapest.

  • Training course in Cranfield University

    PhD candidate A. Ropodi attended a one-week training course from December 2-6 in Cranfield University, UK. Its topic was Data Anaysis και Modelling and was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Fady Mohareb, course director of MSc Applied Bioinformatics.

  • "Hot topics in food microbiology" oral presentation

    On Tuesday November 26th, Prof. G.-I. Nychas will be presenting at the "Hot topics in food microbiology" conference. The presentation is entitled: "Assessment of meat spoilage regardless of storage conditions, featuring vibrational spectroscopy and bioinformatics" at the "Hot topics in food microbiology".

  • 1st iMeatSense seminar

    The first iMeatSense seminar on "Use of non-invasive methods for assessment of meat quality" was succesfully conducted yesterday at the Agricultural University of Athens. The seminar included oral presentations by Prof. G.-J. Nychas, D. Loukas and A. Ropodi.

  • Oral Presentation at ICPMF8, Paris

    On Tuesday 17th September, the work of A. Ropodi, E. Panagou and G.-J. Nychas "Assessment of microbiological quality and authenticity of minced meat using multispectral image analysis" will be orally presented at the 8th International Conference on Predictive Modelling in Food in Paris.   • Oral Presentation by Prof. Nychas at "Microbial Spoilers in Food 2013"

    On Monday July 1st, Prof. G.-J. Nychas will give an oral presentation on «Evaluation of Meat Spoilage using FTIR and multispectral image analysis» during the Microbial Spoilers in Food 2013 conference in Quimper.

The project "Intelligent multi-sensor system for meat analysis - iMeatSense_550" has been co-financed by the European Union (European Social Fund – ESF) and Greek national funds through the Operational Program "Education and Lifelong Learning" of the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) - Research Funding Program: ARISTEIA-I.
