George Nychas is Professor in Food Microbiology in the Dept of Food Science& Human Nutrition.The last 25 years coordinated 4 and participated in more than 30 EU projects(budget >5M€),in the area of Food Safety,food Ecology, Microbial physiology of pathogenic&spoilage bacteria,Natural Antimicrobial systems, biofilms,Quorum Sensing,Bioinformatics, metabolomics,Predictive modeling and Risk Analysis.He has published 156 papers(7/2013) in SCI&25 Chapters as invited author (ca.4000 citations,h=36)
Dr. E.Z. Panagou received his Ph.D. degree in 2002 from the Department of Food Science and Technology of the Agricultural University of Athens. His previous employment has been with the Institute of Technology of Agricultural Products as research assistant. In 2007, he joined the Department working as a Lecturer. He has participated in 15 research projects and has published 46 original research papers in scientific journals of the SCI and 4 book chapters. His work has been cited 363 times.
Dr. P.Skandamis received his PhD diploma on Food Microbiology from the Agricultural University of Athens in 2001 and then worked as a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Animal Science of Colorado State University. In 2004, he joined the Department of Food Science & Technology as a Lecturer. He has authored 81 research papers, 13 book chapters and has a total number of 1985 citations (h factor 21).
Dr. D.I. Loukas graduated from the Dept. of Mathematics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2004 from the Department of Applied Informatics of the University of Macedonia (Thessaloniki). Since then he has worked as a visiting lecturer, as well as a research associate in several research projects.
Dr. Panos Tsakanikas graduated from the Dept. of Physics, Univ. of Patras. In 2005, he received his MSc from the Dept. of Computer Engineering & Informatics in Image/Signal Processing, Univ. of Patras. He received his PhD in 2010 from the Dept. of Informatics & Telecommunications, National & Kapodistrian Univ. of Athens. Since then, he has worked as a PostDoc at the BRFAA, and since October 2013 as a PostDoc at the Agricultural University of Athens.
Mr Dimitrios E. Pavlidis graduated from the Dept. of "Food Science and Technology" of the Agricultural School of the Aristotle university of Thessaloniki, in 2010.
In 2013, he received his master degree from the Department of "Food Science and technology and Human Nutrition" of the Agricultural University of Athens. His specialty was on "Food Safety and Quality Management". During his master thesis he work in the "CROB" research programme in the University of Basilicata.
Athina Ropodi received her degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and then graduated from the postgraduate Program "Information Technologies in Medicine and Biology" of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, University of Athens, specializing in Bioinformatics.
Dr. Vasiliki Blana graduated from the Dept. of Food Science and Technology, Agricultural University of Athens. In 2012, she received her PhD diploma on Food Microbiology from Cranfield Health Department in the U.K. Since then, she works as a post-doctoral fellow in the Agricultural University of Athens on various national and European research and educational projects.
